The founder of Carit Automotive GmbH & Co KG, Günter Grodde, had been the general agent for Solex carburetors and fuel pumps since 1967 with his company Grodde GmbH & Co KG. Due to the technology shift to injection systems, the company shifted its activities to developing its own products for the automotive sector. These include, for example, actuators and test devices, which have found their way into the retrofit and repair market under the name CARIT.

Over the years, modern biotechnology was added as a new line of business. The focus here is on the development of biotechnological products and processes for environmental protection.

At the same time, a profit center for technically sophisticated equipment for professional equestrian sports was established. The program is marketed under the Mounty brand name.

In order to achieve a clear demarcation of business areas and competencies, the automotive division was transferred to a new company, CPK Automotive GmbH & Co. KG, in 1985. At the same time, the original company was renamed Biologic GmbH & Co KG.

2009 is the founding year of Carit Automotive GmbH & Co KG. The name was chosen to reflect the long-established brand name. The development of electronic platforms was followed by components for exhaust gas aftertreatment. A current focus is the development and optimization of sensors for denoxing (NOx sensor). Another focus is on driver assistance systems. The market launch of an assistance system for reversing with trailers such as caravans or horse trailers is in preparation.
